The chief reported five personnel were out for personal reasons and said the department has already expended roughly 40% of its overtime budget as of October. He said the new positions are intended to reduce reliance on overtime and ensure adequate daily staffing for emergency response.
Council moved and seconded the requested budget adjustment and position allocations; the motion passed.
The city will add the two positions to the FY 2025'26 staffing plan and proceed with recruitment and the associated budget adjustments.
