The Sandy City Planning Commission voted to forward a positive recommendation for the Jamieson Point annexation at the intersection of Little Cottonwood Road and Wasatch Boulevard and to zone the parcels R-1-15.
Brian McHouston summarized the proposal: 10 parcels are within the annexation area (staff noted one small triangular piece likely to be dedicated as right-of-way), and staff recommended R-1-15 zoning to match the county’s existing R-1-115 classification for most parcels. McHouston said eight of the 10 property owners signed consent forms indicating interest in joining Sandy City.
Staff recommended that the commission find in favor of annexation and zoning based on the findings in the staff report. No members of the public spoke in opposition during the meeting.
A commissioner moved to forward a positive recommendation to City Council to approve the Jamieson Point annexation and zone the properties R-1-15; the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote.
