The Wasatch Front Regional Council approved the nominating committee’s recommendation to retain existing chairs and vice chairs for WFRC and its major committees.
Mayor Jeff Silvestrini, chair of the nominating committee, told the council the panel sought continuity, geographic balance and a mix of city and county representation when considering leadership. The committee recommended keeping Don Ramsey (chair) and Bob Stevenson (vice chair) and recommended no broad changes to committee chairs at this time.
Council members voted to approve the nominations and to ratify membership adjustments that had been forwarded from county Councils of Governments. WFRC staff said some membership changes were still pending final COG actions and would be ratified as they are submitted.
Why it matters: committee leadership affects how WFRC sets priorities and coordinates with state and federal partners. The nominating committee said continuity will help the regional organization maintain momentum while navigating a new federal administration and the 2025 legislative session.
Speakers and attributions are drawn from the meeting transcript and nominating committee report.
