During the personnel report, the board acknowledged the retirements of Lori Lantanzio, an English-language development teacher at Bancroft Elementary with 28 years of service; Principal Leah McCumsey of Bancroft Elementary, 14 years of service; Colleen Thurman, a teacher at New Garden Elementary with 37 years of service; and Heather Uster, an eighth-grade science teacher at Kennett Middle School with 25½ years of service. Board members expressed appreciation for the retirees’ service; Leah McCumsey was present and recognized.
Administration presented a personnel slate and the board approved the recommended personnel changes, with all hires contingent on required certification. Administration said hiring processes are underway to fill the announced vacancies and that responses to postings have been strong.
