Pasco students honored with Cambridge Learner Awards

The Pasco County School Board recognized 36 high school students Thursday for academic achievement on Cambridge International examinations, naming winners from Anclote High School, Hudson High School and Pasco High School.
Sarah Dufresne, supervisor of magnet schools and programs, told the board the Cambridge program reaches students in more than 160 countries and that Cambridge Learner Awards recognize three scholar levels based on exam performance. She said one student, Natalia Mouton of Hudson High School, earned the Cambridge Scholar Award for Distinction by passing three Cambridge examinations with a score of A.
Dufresne listed seven students who earned the Cambridge Scholar Award with merit by passing three Cambridge examinations with scores of B or higher and 28 students who earned the scholar award with scores of C or higher. She asked board members, staff and families present to stand and applaud the scholars.
The recognitions were part of the meeting's special presentations; no board action was taken on the awards. The district provided the list of winners and their schools during the presentation.
