Heath accepts PATH donations for Town Center Park pickleball shade and anonymous gift for City Hall improvements

The Heath City Council on Jan. 14 formally acknowledged two gifts to the city’s PATH parks and trails program that will fund park amenities and City Hall improvements.
Tolbert donation for Town Center pickleball shade
Council recognized a significant donation from Bob and Kathy Tolbert to fund a shade structure over six of the eight pickleball courts planned at Town Center Park. Parks staff described the PATH program — a public‑private fundraising effort started in 2019 that has supported trails, playgrounds and park repairs — and said the Tolberts’ contribution will keep a shade pavilion in the Town Center design that was threatened by budget constraints. The council approved a resolution acknowledging the gift and invited donors and park volunteers to a ceremonial photo.
Anonymous donation for City Hall exterior improvements
Council also accepted an anonymous PATH contribution to refurbish the City Hall monument sign, hardscape entrance/exit corners, expand front landscape beds, and extend a sidewalk across the front of City Hall to connect to Annie Parks Elementary School and the public trail system. Staff showed before/after images and said the donation enables improved public connections to the city trail.
Votes and next steps
Both items were approved by motion and passed unanimously. Parks staff said construction and site work will begin soon on both projects; the anonymous donor will coordinate details through the PATH fundraising committee.
