The city conducted annual board and commission interviews on July 8. Candidates for Arts & Culture, Community Services, Environmental Sustainability, Mobility and Planning Commissions gave brief presentations and answered questions. Applicants described a range of professional and volunteer experience: civil engineering and site design (Patrick Veil Torre), public safety and Vision Zero advocacy (Emma McLease), arts education and volunteer classroom art instruction (Britney Morrow), user-experience and design background with public-art experience (Tristan Reed), sustainability and climate action work (Robin Ellum, Laura Dickens), mobility and travel-demand forecasting experience (Mike Calandra) and planning and advisory committee participation (David Harris).
The clerk noted that several applicants had submitted written statements or could not attend. Appointments for all open positions will be made at the July 22 council meeting.
No votes were taken on July 8; interviews were part of the recruitment process and formal appointments will be recorded after July 22.
