The council proclaimed July 2025 as Park and Recreation Month, noting programs and summer events run by the Community Services (to be renamed Parks & Recreation) Department. Director Misty Thompson, pool manager Brooke Walsh, Adult Enrichment Center representative Meg Howell and community services manager Josh Gomez described summer camps, pool lessons, senior programs and other activities.
The council also proclaimed July 8, 2025 as Metropolitan Area Advisory Committee on Anti Poverty (MAC) Day in recognition of MAC's 60 years of services across the San Diego region; Austin Foy, MAC CFO, accepted the proclamation and thanked the council.
