Council directs internal recruitment for housing director; commissioners to meet on interim plan

Staff recommended commissioners meet to decide interim arrangements; a special commissioners meeting was scheduled for the following Monday at 10 a.m. to finalize interim staffing and discuss benefits and classification (employee vs. independent contractor) if the outgoing director were to serve temporarily. Council members emphasized the need to maintain continuity of housing services during the transition.
No final appointment to the permanent position was made at the meeting; recruitment and interim decisions will be made following the commissioners’ special meeting.
