At the close of the meeting the chair stated an executive session was appropriate because the subject fit one of the permitted categories (character/competency of an individual, pending litigation, or real estate negotiations). A motion to go into executive session was moved, seconded and carried by a recorded voice sequence; the chair announced the motion carried 4 to 1. One board member stated opposition during the roll call.
