CFB ISD launches committee, timeline to select IMRA-2026 math materials for 2026—27

Miss Holcomb, representing curriculum and math leaders, presented the district's plan to begin a formal textbook adoption process for K'12 math based on the Texas Education Agency's IMRA 2026 vendor list. She said the process is designed to ensure materials are 100% aligned to state standards and to produce teacher-friendly, differentiated resources.
The proposed timeline begins with board approval of a district textbook committee (proposed membership includes teachers across grades and departments, campus administration and instructional specialists). Committee meetings will begin in November, textbook exploration occurs in December, vendor presentations and a public viewing of sample materials will occur in January at the ESDC, and the committee will narrow materials to the top two choices in February and gather public feedback. The staff will return to the board in April with a recommendation and will finalize ordering in May and June for implementation in August 2026.
Sourcing and funding: Holcomb said materials will be purchased from the district's Texas Instructional Materials Allotment (TIMA) and noted the district can maximize state-provided funds by selecting IMRA-vetted materials. She emphasized balanced committee representation (grade levels, special services, dual language, advanced academics) and cross-departmental review to ensure compatibility with technology and instructional needs.
The board did not take a formal policy vote Nov. 6 but was asked to approve formation of the committee and the timeline so the adoption work can proceed this school year.
