Lawrence County commissioners approve routine measures, reappointments and executive session

Lawrence County commissioners on Oct. 14 approved a series of routine measures, reappointments and a motion to meet in executive session on legal contracts in real estate.

The board voted to approve the minutes from the Oct. 7, 2025 meeting; to approve flood-plain permits submitted by the Soil and Water Conservation District; and to approve appropriations and transfers dated Oct. 14, 2025, under $75,000 as submitted by County Administrator Dylan Bentley. Commissioner Finley abstained on the appropriations and transfers vote; Commissioners Holiday and Copley voted yes.

The board designated representatives for the County Commissioners Association of Ohio (CCAO) annual meeting, with Diana named as the official representative and Mike named as the alternate after discussion that the county’s earlier correspondence may not have been received. The commissioners also approved and signed the Prevention Retention Contingency biannual plan for the Department of Job and Family Services.

In personnel business the board reappointed Michael Gore and Amanda Carte to the Lawrence County Developmental Disabilities Board for a four-year term effective Jan. 1, 2026, through Dec. 31, 2029.

Finally, commissioners voted to meet in executive session with County Administrator Dylan Bentley and Corey Watson to discuss legal contracts in real estate.

Actions recorded in the meeting minutes matched the roll-call results recorded on Oct. 14.
