Trustee recommends Bruni and Gallego elementary fences from CIP funds
Summary
Dr. Perez recommended awarding a fence installation project for Bruni and Gallego elementaries from the district's $300,000 CIP allocation, an estimated $227,000 expense that would leave about $72,000 for Safe Cycle 1 grants and additional door/closure work.

At the Nov. 6 Business & Support Committee meeting, Dr. Perez recommended using portion of the district's capital-improvement funding to install wrought-iron and chain-link fences at Bruni and Gallego elementary schools.
Dr. Perez said the two projects would total about $227,000 and that the district's available allocation of $300,000 would leave a balance of roughly $72,000 that could be used for Safe Cycle 1 grant matching or for exterior door replacement and mechanism work. He asked staff to revise the project list that will appear on the regular board agenda to reflect the two elementary schools.
Trustees did not vote at the committee meeting; staff confirmed they will change the board agenda entry to list Bruni and Gallego as the recommended projects.
