Council approves $70,000 budget amendment to paint East Water Tower

Finance staff presented Budget Amendment No. 5 on Sept. 17 to increase FY26 revenues and expenditures by $70,000 to pay for painting the East Water Tower. The staff member said the painting did not make it into the processed budget and needs to be added.
Council voted to approve the amendment by voice vote. Staff noted the town name will now appear on the east and west sides of the tank in addition to the north and south sides and that the project will meet town specifications for appearance and construction.
The amendment does not appear to include additional operational or maintenance funding beyond the one-time painting cost discussed at the meeting.
