Town staff told the council on Sept. 17 that 3 MR Limited Partnership is donating a 40-foot-wide strip of right-of-way needed for an expansion of the Nashville ABC store. The proposed addition includes construction of a 27-foot-wide, 285-foot-long curved street with curb, gutter and asphalt built to town specifications that will provide an alternate access route to the ABC store.
Staff said the donated right-of-way will be accepted by the town as a public street after construction is complete and it meets town standards. The council moved to accept the donation and approved acceptance by voice vote.
Staff noted that the remaining lot behind the new street has steep topography and could be difficult to develop, citing prior interest from a nursing-home developer. Councilmembers thanked local businesses and landowners for working with the town to provide needed infrastructure for commercial development.
