"The applicant is proposing a conditional use permit to operate a craft cocktail and beer bar at 7603 West State Street," staff stated, and noted a public hearing Oct. 28 produced applicant support and no speakers in opposition.
Cole, participating by Zoom, described his background operating two venues in Cedarburg and Oconomowoc and said he aimed to "bring something new to the area" while respecting the building—s history. When asked about outdoor seating, Cole said patio space was not ready for immediate approval and would return to the commission with a plan; staff clarified any outdoor seating would require separate approval.
Chair moved approval "subject to the staff recommendations," a motion seconded by Commissioner Osmond; the commission voted unanimously in favor. The staff noted the item will be scheduled for Common Council consideration on Nov. 18.
