Jackson County committee forwards sheriff’s Tech 84 body scanner request to full board
The Transportation Committee voted to forward the sheriff’s request to purchase a Tech 84 body scanner—intended to detect metallic and nonmetallic contraband in the county jail—to the full board with a recommendation of approval. The unit will be installed after a modest construction job; financing will come from the sheriff’s capital fund.
