Frances Melton, Bee County’s grant administrator, updated commissioners on the status of the Hurricane Harvey Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) MIT MOD project and said the program cannot proceed until two specific environmental reports are provided by consultant firms.
Melton said the missing documents are an environmental report on ground disturbance and a compliance report on drilling‑well locations; both were requested from Anna Aldridge and Hansen Engineering. She said some materials were submitted earlier that morning but the required reports had not yet been received and that staff scheduled another check‑in for mid‑December.
Melton also confirmed that once the outstanding environmental items are complete, the project will move to the next step of environmental review and then implementation under the GLO CDBG process. Commissioners asked about expenditure deadlines and Melton agreed to follow up with specific timing for grant compliance.
No formal action was taken; the update was informational and staff will report progress in future meetings.
