Julie Simpson sworn in to Community High School District 128 board

At a special meeting Nov. 3, Julie Simpson was sworn in as the newest member of the Community High School District 128 Board of Education.
"I, Julie Simpson, do solemnly swear that I will faithfully discharge the duties of the office of the Board of Education of Community High School District 128 in accordance with the constitution of The United States, the constitution of the state of Illinois, and the laws of the state of Illinois to the best of my ability," Simpson recited during the oath.
The presiding officer said the board had previously voted to appoint Simpson at a special meeting and called the Nov. 3 session so she could take the oath and begin official duties. After the oath was completed, the presiding officer welcomed Simpson and the board adjourned the special meeting to proceed to committee business.
No formal committee actions were taken during the swearing-in portion of the meeting; the adjournment was approved by voice vote.
