Vanessa Fuentes, Austin’s mayor pro tem, opened the ceremony by declaring October 2025 National Women’s Small Business Month in Austin and said the city should continue supporting women entrepreneurs. "Women in Austin not only increase business inclusiveness and diversity, but they also empower other young women to challenge policies that limit access," Fuentes said. Anne Eaton, assistant director with Austin Economic Development, accepted the proclamation and urged continued work to remove barriers to business ownership.
