Mayor (Speaker 4) opened the council's Aug. 7 work meeting and reported on that morning's legislative affairs briefing, where a U.S. congressman and a state official spoke about taxes, budgets and housing. "He spoke a lot about the... taxes and the changes that are taking place," Mayor (Speaker 4) said of the congressman, and added that budget pressures remain a key concern.
