Hernando County commissioners approved a rezoning request (file H2524) Nov. 4 to convert a previously planned‑development single‑family parcel on Mariner Boulevard to a plan development district for office/professional uses, specifically a dietitian’s office. The petitioner will reconfigure the driveway and provide on‑site commercial parking, including accessible spaces and sidewalk connectivity.
Public works reviewed the site and recommended changes to ensure the entrance/egress would not allow vehicles to back onto Mariner Boulevard; the board required right‑in only from Mariner and a full entrance and exit on Springwood Road. Commissioners voted 5‑0 to approve the request with those conditions. The petitioner must submit an updated master plan and construction plans showing the revised access for review during permitting.
