Clark County advisory board approves Community Action Plan report for publication

The Clark County Community Action Advisory Board voted unanimously to approve publication of the draft Community Action Plan (CAP) content at its November meeting. Melanie Green moved to approve the draft report for publication and Britney Lassane seconded; the chair called for a voice vote and the motion carried.
Staff told board members the draft under consideration was for content only and that layout, photos and final formatting would be handled by county communications after the board’s content approval. Staff asked board members to submit photos they want included by the end of the week.
During discussion, members asked about several data points in the county snapshot included in the CAP. Staff said many counts are drawn from the U.S. Census Bureau five-year estimates (the report used the 2023 five-year estimates because the 2024 five-year estimates were delayed). One board member asked how many housing units the county has; staff said the snapshot listed 212,800 housing units, a figure that includes both owner-occupied and rental units.
The meeting also covered related items including finance reports and the annual audit. Staff reported the county audit, issued in September, had no findings. The board will finalize design and photos with county communications and expects the report to be published after those edits are complete.
