On Oct. 28 the Spalding County Planning Commission approved a package of text amendments to Appendix 4 of the zoning ordinance (Articles 16–19) intended to correct, clarify and improve use and standards language.
Staff said the revisions incorporated comments from members (notably Ballard and Bryant) and minor edits circulated by email. The commission moved sequentially to approve Article 16, 17A, 17B, 18 and 19 as revised; there was no public opposition during the hearing.
Separately, the commission tabled a special‑exception application to place a cell tower at 3430 North McDonough Road (Application 25‑16S by Harmonii Towers LLC) at the applicant’s request; staff said no action would be taken by the planning commission on that item this evening.
What’s next: Approved text changes will proceed through the county’s adoption process as required; the cell‑tower applicant may return with revised materials addressing staff and commission concerns.
