Springfield Township SD reports ESY summer results and seeks temporary Wilson reading support

Dr. Dennis reported on the district’s Extended School Year (ESY) programs, saying the summer program served roughly 70 students across multiple models: a full‑day district program for students with multiple academic/functional goals (roughly half of ESY enrollment), half‑day itinerant reading and math interventions (about 25%), and smaller itinerant emotional‑support and tutoring groups. He said new lead‑teacher support and on‑site coordination improved fidelity and communication, and staff reported stronger student engagement and outcomes, including increased attendance for targeted students.
