Campus construction manager reports progress on 2019 referendum projects, bids coming in October

Travis Bridal of Campus Construction Management briefed the Facilities & Finance Committee on progress across several active projects funded by the 2019 capital referendum.
Bridal said many closeout-phase items show little month-to-month change but highlighted upcoming procurement for phase 3B2, with a likely bid date in October and a quick post-bid vetting process by campus staff and Tetra Tech before sending a letter of recommendation to the board. "We already we pre reach out. We start procuring bid interest," Bridal said, describing pre-bid contractor outreach and an approximate one-month window for bidders to prepare proposals.
Work at Beverly J. Martin Elementary School includes reinstallation of classroom roller shades after quality-control concerns; Bridal said contractors will reattach shades for safety and longevity at no added cost. Enfield work (exterior abatement and domestic-water system replacement) is substantially complete, while high-school additions are seeing structural-steel completion, ceiling installation, rebar for slabs, exterior CMU block installation, and commissioning of a new air-handler unit serving the kitchen and cafeteria.
Bridal said the project team will provide a post-bid review to vet contractor qualifications before making any recommendation to the board, and that more detailed bid and schedule information will be sent to the board as dates firm up.
