County opens bids to replace jail radios; two bids under review

Vice Chairman Paul David moved that staff submit the bids for conformity review and then award the contract to the lowest conforming bidder; the board approved the motion by voice vote.
Manager Welker and board members discussed whether the bids were within budget estimates; no precise in-house estimate was recorded during the public portion, and staff said they would complete the conformity review in-house before awarding.
Next steps: County procurement staff will perform the conformity review and return an award recommendation to the board for final authorization if needed.
