Rules committee forwards three administration appointments to full council

The Yonkers City Council Rules Committee on Oct. 21 advanced three administration appointments to the full council agenda for advice and consent.

Dusan Lakich was introduced as the nominee for first deputy corporation counsel. The committee reviewed Lakich’s resume and, with no substantive questions, agreed to place the resolution on next week’s agenda for a formal vote.

Rachel Kravitz, nominated for second deputy corporation counsel, introduced herself to the committee. “I've been an associate corporation counsel since August 2012,” Kravitz said, and described prior private practice and experience representing city boards and departments. A brief exchange with council members followed, and the committee added her nomination to next week's agenda.

Administration also presented a resolution to appoint Helen Agris as commissioner of human resources. A councilmember questioned resume dates and called the résumé “misleading”; Agris corrected the timeline, stating she started with the City in 2013 and advanced through deputy and first deputy corporation counsel roles before her current nomination. The committee placed Agris’s appointment on next week's council agenda.

None of the appointments were voted on at the rules committee; each will appear for advice and consent at the full council meeting next week.
