Board adopts DreamBox math program for two years using Title I and sponsored CEP funds

The board voted Oct. 27 to adopt DreamBox as the district’s supplemental math resource and to fund the first two years through Title I allocations and a sponsored CEP arrangement that covers non‑Title I campuses. Michelle May presented the purchase options and said the district had secured a CEP sponsorship that would cover two years of licensing for several campuses.

Costs presented: DreamBox list pricing for the district was in the range presented by staff: roughly $69,500 per year (plus tax) for baseline licensing. May explained Title I schools would be covered with Title I carryover and expected allocations (estimated to increase when carryforward and winter allocations are posted), and the CEP sponsor would fund other campuses for two years while the district evaluates implementation. The board approved the two‑year adoption using Title I and the CEP sponsorship (vote recorded as 5–0).

Implementation: Staff said teachers are familiar with DreamBox and that students and families also know the platform, reducing startup PD time; staff planned an immediate rollout pending vendor paperwork. The district will monitor usage and outcomes and report progress to the board.
