STV presented a draft construction-project dashboard that Whatcom County will publish on the county website to track the jail project’s budget, contracting percentages, milestones and near-term schedule.
Adam Johnson of STV walked through a draft view showing budget and forecast values, percent contracted to date, local-dollars contracted (noted as accurate), milestone timelines, a six-week look-ahead and a breakdown for workforce participation categories (for example, small, women- and minority-owned contractor participation). He said the current mock-up uses dummy data except for the local-dollars figure, and that the county expects to publish a live version on the jail-update web page within the next month.
Why it matters: County officials said transparency on local-dollar commitments, contract milestones and cash flow will be available through the dashboard and can inform cost and scheduling decisions for the justice-project planning process.
Next steps: STV will finalize dashboard data feeds and timing; the live dashboard will replace mock-up data when published. County staff will continue to provide construction and cost estimates requested by the IPRTF for alternate BCC location options.
Provenance: Presentation by Adam Johnson (STV) during the meeting; county staff confirmed the dashboard will publish on the county jail update web page.
