Human Resources presented recommendations from the Baker Tilly classification and compensation review that affect a small number of positions countywide. The report's proposed changes will move the dispatch manager position to exempt status; change the auditorium/audio-visual manager at the OECC from exempt to nonexempt; and reclassify several IT and GIS positions to exempt. The gun-range manager would also move from nonexempt to exempt under the consultant's recommendations.
HR said it has reviewed the list with affected department heads and that the recommendations will appear in the final compensation report. Commissioners asked HR to double-check comparable manager classifications (for example parks and recreation facility managers and ice-rink managers) to ensure consistency before finalizing.
