Cobb County approves transportation contracts; program management amendment totals $26.68 million

Highlights: - Utility relocation agreement with Georgia Power for preliminary engineering and facility relocation on Canton Road at Piedmont Road (project B2312): amount not to exceed $110,088. - Final change orders to engineering and utility contracts (2016 and 2022 SPLOST Transportation Improvements Program and Public Facility Projects): aggregate savings of $500,438.81 to project budgets. - Final change orders to construction contracts for completed projects (2022 Transportation Improvements Program, Public Facility Projects Fund, and Water System Fund): aggregate savings of $1,166,498.36. - Amendment Work Authorization 3 to program management agreement with Atkins: not to exceed $26,683,307 for program-management services across the 2022 SPLOST program and continuation of 2011/2016 programs, effective Jan. 1, 2026–Dec. 31, 2027. - Resolution authorizing submission of GDOT grant applications for Transportation Alternatives Program/CMAQ/air quality funding (Austell Powder Springs Road Trail and Old 41 Highway Realignment). - Contract with Advanced Road Construction LLC for drainage system repairs on North Elizabeth Lane (project B22169): amount not to exceed $138,871.
Department staff said the approvals included both planned contract adjustments and new work needed for continued implementation of the county’s SPLOST-funded transportation capital program. Board members voted to authorize corresponding budget and accounting transactions and to authorize the chairman to execute documents as needed. Each transportation item passed on unanimous votes.
