Anne Arundel health officials warn federal Medicaid changes could strip coverage from thousands

Anne Arundel County Health Officer Dr. Toni Gedna told the Board of Health on Oct. 14 that forthcoming federal- and state-directed changes to Medicaid will affect the county—s roughly 107,000 enrollees and could leave thousands without coverage.
Gedna said the county—s Medicaid caseload includes about 82,000 traditional enrollees and roughly 25,000 Affordable Care Act expansion adults, and that Maryland projects about half of that expansion group could lose coverage over time. "We have roughly 107,000 folks enrolled in Medicaid," Gedna said during the presentation.
