Pipestone County renews Darktrace cybersecurity contract and approves Morris Electronics support

IT Director Bill Folger described Darktrace as "another set of eyes that's 24 by 7 watching everything that goes on on the inside of the network," saying the tool provides continuous automated monitoring and alerts. The county presented a three‑year contract total of $32,007.75; the board moved and approved the contract by voice vote.
Folger also recommended buying block hours and after‑hours support from Morris Electronics. He said the vendor's monthly visits and contacts have performed well for the county and neighboring jurisdictions, and the board approved authorization for 12 monthly visits at the presented rate.
Both contracts were presented as renewals or ongoing service arrangements intended to maintain county IT operations and security. Board discussion acknowledged the value of remote vendor support in saving staff travel time and noted long‑standing relationships between the county and the vendors.
