"So we're cleaning up that sick leave language in along with adding the holidays," the sheriff said. The committee received clarification that wage concerns referenced by a member are separate and would be addressed in a future budget process rather than as part of this amendment.
A motion from Cosgrove, seconded by Fleming, approved sending the changes to the county board; the committee approved the measure by voice vote with no opposition recorded.
Next steps: the amendment will be forwarded to the county board for formal adoption; wage adjustments, if any, will be considered separately through the budgeting process.
