Duarte High student board member flags culinary class supply problem
Student board member Alexis reported campus events and flagged that the culinary arts program could not purchase food at certain times because of invoicing/payment problems with the vendor Smart & Final, which has prevented classes from cooking; district staff said they are working with the principal and purchasing staff to resolve the issue.

At the Nov. 13 Duarte Unified board meeting, student board member Alexis briefed the board on campus activities and raised a concern affecting the culinary arts program at Duarte High School. Alexis told the board that Chef Prince was unable to purchase food during specific times of the month because of invoicing/payment issues with Smart & Final, which left students without ingredients and disrupted planned cooking classes.
