The Dallas County Commissioners Court met in a special session on Nov. 17, 2025, and voted to certify the precinct returns from the Nov. 4 constitutional amendment, special and joint election and to authorize the county judge to sign the canvas.
The action item was introduced by an unidentified court official who said the court needed to "complete the canvas, in the minutes, order the certified returns to be reported to the Texas Secretary of State, and authorize Dallas County judge to sign the canvas of the general election." Commissioner (unidentified, S2) moved to certify the returns; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
The court recorded no public comment related to the certification during the special call. After the voice vote, the court instructed the clerk to report the certified returns to the Texas Secretary of State and to enter the canvas completion in the minutes. The court then moved to adjourn and ended the special session.
The certification is an administrative step required after county canvassing to transmit official precinct returns to the state; the court did not take other substantive election-related actions during the session.
