At the start of public comment, Kayla Simpson of 1508 Church Street criticized the courthouse renovation and questioned ARPA‑funded expenditures, saying an earlier $500,000 proposal to repair the roof and add climate control "turned into a $4,000,000 adaptive reuse" and that spending "over $100,000 per square foot on a meeting room will never make sense for this county."
