Linn County IT reports 93% completion in cybersecurity training; rollout to continue

Charles said elevated accounts (system administrators), communications staff and finance personnel completed specialized modules with 100% participation and that IT will continue to work with departments to raise completion among holdouts. He described a plan to automatically enroll new employees in monthly training cycles and to reserve account suspension as a last resort after departmental outreach and manager intervention.
Supervisors offered to assist with outreach to departments that have staff on leave or deployable assignments; IT said it will coordinate with department heads before taking enforcement steps.
No policy changes were approved at the meeting; IT will return with updated completion metrics as training continues.
