Greg Carwick, the owner, and buyer William Paxton asked the board to allow a split of a 5-acre parcel at 6456 North 400 West in Springfield Township that would create a new parcel with 25 feet of frontage on 450 West.
Paxton and Carwick said the new lot would be accessed from a cul-de-sac (referred to in discussion as Sherwood or Raybush Drive). Board members examined maps and drive access and concluded that driveway addressing and permits would be handled through county highway and the building department. Members discussed concerns about apparent low frontage on one side of the split but agreed that a road extension/courtesy access via the cul-de-sac would provide reasonable access.
After discussion a board member moved to approve the petition, the motion was seconded and the board voted in favor by voice. The chair told the applicants to coordinate addressing and driveway permits with county officials.
