Volunteers and users push back as Cowlitz County discusses future of gun range

During public comment, Bruce Singleton, secretary of Callist Game and Anglers, disputed a commissioner’s remark that range attendance had declined “by thousands.” Singleton provided annual shooter counts for 2020–2024 and said the club’s recent attendance is stable or improving. He also said volunteers contribute roughly 100–120 hours per week to operate the range and that Callist remits about $35,000–$40,000 annually to the county in shooting fees.
