Berkeley County's land-use committee approved a string of zoning measures Tuesday and postponed one contested rezoning request to next month. The committee approved Bill 25-48 (second reading) and several subsequent measures — Bills 25-49, 25-57, 25-47, 25-52, 25-53 and 25-54 — by voice vote after motions from council members, while Bill 25-56, a request to rezone about 4.66 acres on Old Somerville Road and Varner Street from Manufactured Residential R-2 to Office Institutional for a proposed 47-townhome development, was postponed to the December committee meeting.
