Commission closes one case, hears updates on Melborough and Myra Avenue issues

At its monthly meeting the Housing Commission of East Ridge closed one enforcement case, heard an update on a nearby property and asked staff to follow up on a pest-control complaint.

Staff reported that conditions at 1440 Melborough Circle have improved since the Oct. 8 meeting: washing machines previously cited are gone and remaining items were described as tools and car-repair equipment rather than code-violative hazards. Staff said two cars on site had their hoods up and that the vehicles released from impound had the proper paperwork. Staff indicated the property was ‘as good as it’s gonna get’ and recommended closing a related matter.

Separately, a motion to close the case on 1441 Millbrook Circle was made, seconded and approved by the commissioners present. The commission recorded affirmative votes during the roll call.

In correspondence, a commissioner asked for an update on pest control at a Myra Avenue property; staff apologized for a delayed follow-up and said they would call the resident and return with progress at the next meeting.

There were no public comments, and the meeting adjourned to its next scheduled monthly session.
