Commission conditionally approves Snow Hill snowmobile route change pending private-owner permissions

The West Bend Park and Recreation Commission approved a proposed reroute of the Snow Hill snowmobile trail through Quas Creek Park and along Trenton Road, with the condition that the snowmobile club obtain permission from two private property owners whose driveways would be crossed.
Mike explained that a recent We Energies development eliminated the previous route through the industrial park and that staff and departments judged the yellow route on the map to be on park property and high and dry. "The snowmobile club is responsible for acquiring permission from both of those business owners," Mike said, and staff recommended conditional approval while he follows up after the meeting.
Commissioners asked about wetlands and whether the proposed path had sufficient width for groomers; Mike said the route follows a berm and has adequate room and culvert fill to support equipment. A motion to approve the route, conditional on permissions from the two private owners (National Guard site and a nearby business), was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
