The Eugene City Council on Nov. 19 voted to approve the Sustainability Commission’s fiscal year 2026 work plan and to establish three standing committees to carry out the commission’s priorities.
Danielle Klinkabelt, a climate policy analyst who serves as the commission’s staff liaison, told council the commission helps align volunteer advice with the city’s CAP 2 climate framework and that the city is “67% implemented” on CAP 2 strategies when counting actions complete and those in progress. “This policy is meant to increase transparency about energy related information,” Klinkabelt said of a planned home energy disclosure effort the commission will track in early 2026.
