Creighton board approves October self-evaluation after scoring exercise

Trustees at a Creighton Elementary District study session completed a facilitated board self-evaluation and approved the October self-evaluation by voice vote.

During the meeting, facilitators led trustees through a scoring exercise across categories including vision and goals, values and guardrails, monitoring and accountability, communication and separation, and unity and trust. Facilitators reported recent metrics for the board's ‘‘student-outcome time’’ (roughly 40–48% in recent meetings) and offered to train trustees on time-use coding for future meetings.

At the close of the session, Speaker 1 moved that "the governing board approve October...quarters board self evaluation (10/13/2025)." The motion was seconded; trustees responded with vocal assent and the chair declared the motion passed. No amendments to the evaluation were recorded during the vote.

The board agreed to keep working on the policy-review homework and to use the self-evaluation as a baseline for ongoing monitoring and governance practice updates.
