Taylor City Council on Monday approved a slate of routine procurement items and contract renewals ranging from software subscriptions to equipment repairs.
The council voted to approve a sole-source purchase from Synergy Products for Cradlepoint 5G modems and Panasonic Toughbooks for the fire department, in an amount not to exceed $50,000 funded from the General Fund’s Fire Department Equipment account. Council members also approved a one-year renewal with CivicPlus for website services (not to exceed $16,626 from the general fund administration account) and a renewal of Apex Sketch software for $4,550 through the General Fund IT contractual services account. The council approved renewal of PowerDMS cloud-based software for $7,222 charged to the police contractual services account.
Council also extended the pump maintenance inspection contract with Hesco for three years to cover fiscal years 2025–2028, approved a sole-source repair of a Kubota mini plow (not to exceed $4,889) from Wolverine Rental and Supply funded through parks repair and maintenance, and authorized purchase agreements for the city clerk’s office for fiscal year 2025–26 not to exceed $25,000.
All items were presented as consent or sole-source renewals and carried without recorded roll-call tallies after council members indicated assent. Several council members thanked staff for preparing procurement documentation and noted these items maintain existing services and systems with budgeted funds.
The meeting packet listed the individual amounts and funding sources for each item; full contract terms and vendor names were included in agenda attachments provided to council prior to the vote. There were no recorded amendments to these motions, and staff will proceed with executing the approved renewals and purchases.
