Fallon County reclassifies dispatch supervisor and appoints deputy DES; EMS holiday pay left for future work session

Appointment of deputy DES: The board unanimously approved appointing Mindy Burnham as deputy DES. The commission also clarified that DES-related hours will be charged to the DES budget at Mindy’s current compensation rate and that any overtime attributable to DES duties would be billed to DES. Mindy took the oath of office in open session.
EMS holiday pay and scheduling: EMS manager reported mixed responses from EMTs about proposed holiday on-call pay and recommended scheduling holidays in advance and returning with a formal run/holiday-pay schedule. Commissioners discussed parity with other intermittent positions and the possibility of time-and-a-half for runs that start or end during the holiday period; no final policy was adopted and staff will bring a proposal to a future work session.
No salary changes were recorded in open session other than the reclassification and assignment of DES duties; commissioners asked human resources and payroll to prepare formal letters and to confirm pay-period timing for the reclassification effective date.
