Residents raise school-zone, road, trash and resource concerns during Chester public comment
During public comment, residents asked for school-zone signs and speed mitigations near the Islamic Institute of Studies, promoted a Boys & Girls Club resource rally to feed 400 families, and raised concerns about potholes, dumped mattresses and the need for recreation facilities and street repairs.

Public comment during the Nov. 12 Chester City Council meeting highlighted neighborhood safety and services. Nasir Jihad of the Islamic Institute of Studies at 1105 Concord Ave asked the city to install school-zone signage and consider speed-control measures at a recently added stop sign there. "We wanna get some school zone signs, maybe some bumps," he said.
