Committee advances House child‑support language tied to gambling winnings; amendment reported

Unidentified Speaker told the committee it had a "strike all amendment to put in the senate language" on a child‑support measure and said that language "has been, vetted by the Department of Human Services regarding child support." The speaker described the policy change as aimed at certain gambling "winnings for which the industry is already preparing a document that is reported to the IRS," telling members the change should help find parents who owe support. "There's an awful lot more than a billion dollars is owed," the speaker said.
